Domain-Driven Design for Product Management (EN)
Bridge the gap between business and tech with practical Domain-Driven Design skills English
Inhoud
You’ve probably seen how product and development teams often misinterpret each other’s priorities. Features get built that don’t solve the right problems, and dependencies slow down delivery. This workshop helps you break that cycle by teaching you how to create a “ubiquitous language” across roles and disciplines.
During the two days, you’ll:
- Explore how to move from needs discovery to defining software boundaries with shared language
- Practise collaborative modelling with EventStorming, Example Mapping, and Context Mapping
- Apply key Domain-Driven Design patterns such as bounded contexts and strategic context mapping
- Align software and teams with value streams using Wardley Mapping and Team Topologies
- Learn how to integrate collaborative design into your existing product lifecycle seamlessly
- Empower teams to take ownership of the entire product journey – from discovery to implementation
By the end, you’ll not only know the techniques, but also how to embed them in your daily practice.
This workshop is for you if:
- You want to improve collaboration between product and engineering teams
- You struggle with features that don’t connect to real user needs
- You want to reduce dependencies and blockers in your product delivery
- You are looking for practical tools to align business, design, and technology
- You are ready to move from translating requirements to truly co-creating solutions
This workshop is especially relevant for Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, UX/Product Designers, and engineering leaders such as VP of Engineering.
What you will learn
- Establish a shared “ubiquitous language” to reduce miscommunication
- Use collaborative modelling to shape design directly from real user and business needs
- Apply Domain-Driven Design patterns in practical exercises
- Align team structures and software with value delivery
- Enable teams to take true ownership of product outcomes
Before the workshop
No prior DDD experience is required. You’ll get access to a short optional introduction to Domain-Driven Design to help you prepare. For those who want to dive deeper, we recommend Vladik Khononov’s Learning Domain-Driven Design or Eric Evans’ classic Domain-Driven Design: Tackling Complexity in the Heart of Software.
If you’re joining online, we’ll use Miro for interactive exercises. You’ll get access to the Miro participant onboarding course to ensure you’re comfortable with the tool before we start.
After this workshop
- You’ll be able to bridge communication between product and tech
- You’ll reduce misunderstandings and wasted effort
- You’ll accelerate product discovery and delivery with collaborative design
- You’ll be ready to embed DDD techniques in your product workflow
- You’ll build stronger alignment between business, teams, and technology
Together, we’ll help you build better products by creating shared understanding
At Connected Movement, we bring together proven approaches and hands-on expertise. Our trainers combine deep product management and software design experience with a practical way of teaching. After the workshop, you’ll also join the Connected Community, a network of professionals who keep sharing knowledge and supporting each other in applying DDD and product management practices.
This is more than just a workshop, it’s the start of a new way of working together.
